Trio Impact Invest
The Stockholm region is currently a European hub for research and innovation, aiming to become the world's most innovation-driven economy.
At the same time, there is a clear and acknowledged gap in the capital market when it comes to early, non risk averse and long-term capital for research based companies with high risk, complexity and time-to-market.
It is clear that the lack of capital has adversely effected the conditions for deeptech companies.

Over 250 research-based innovation projects are initiated annually with the help of the innovation support offices of Stockholm Trio.

What is deeptech
We define deeptech as pioneering technology that requires intensive scientific research and development and large demands on time and capital to make it from idea to market implementation. Deeptech companies can be found in multiple technical platforms.

Trio Impact Invest etablerar en fondstruktur med längre horisont öppen för privat kapital. Den aktiva investeringsperioden är 2025-2029 och därefter följer en förvaltningsperiod fram till 2036 eller som längst 2042. Det finns ett starkt och uttalat syfte att stärka den svenska innovationskraften genom att prioritera disruptiva teknologier som kan bidra till att lösa samhällets stora utmaningar samtidigt som vi bidrar till en positiv samhällsutveckling där tillväxt, arbetstillfällen och klimat är tydliga indikatorer.
Target group
Fonden investerar i tidiga forskningsintensiva deeptech-bolag med koppling till regionen. Bolagen ska befinna sig i utvecklingsfas men ha potential för tillväxt. Investeringarna ska säkra svenska intressen i tidiga skeden.
Impact
Investeringar ska göras i bolag med positiv påverkan på de globala hållbarhetsmålen. Fokus ska ligga på bolag som skapar samhällsnytta ur forskning alternativt är forskningsintensiva och har en stark ESG-prägel.

Experience & Competence
The three holding companies behind Trio Impact Invest - SU Holding, KI Holding and KTH Holding - are an integral part of the university innovation eco system. They have unique experience, knowledge and understanding of the context in which early innovation is created. With a large case flow and access to academic experts, industrial partners and research infrastructure they are perfectly placed to assess and support research based companies.
Holdingbolagens team har lång erfarenhet av tidiga investeringar i, och utveckling av, högteknologiska bolag som tar sig an stora samhällsutmaningar. Idag investerar holdingbolagen i ungefär 15 nya bolag varje år och förvaltar aktivt runt 100 innehav. Investeringar sker primärt i etableringsskede i en evergreen struktur med långsiktigt perspektiv och med en värdeutveckling på mellan 4 till 5 gånger investerat kapital.
